Alaska

The whole family took a cruise to Alaska in early september. This was Claires first vacation and she did pretty good. I have to say vacationing with a baby is very different. No late nights, your lucky if you get to eat dinner with the rest of the family and packing light is out of the question! But we still had a good time and got to explore beautiful Alaska.

Claire got a walker this weekend end and she still learning how to use it. So far she can just push herself backwards. But I think she will be chaseing the cat around in it in no time! She also got a new camo hat. She's ready for hunting season!

Our schedule is no schedule

How do I put claire on a schedule when our work schedules are so bizzare. I have read the books but find they tend to be for people who have a stay at home parent or at least a 8-5 monday-friday job. Adam works 7 nights a month and 7 days a month and they are broken up through out the month. So somedays claire has a babysitter all day and some days only a half day. She also has had 4 different baby sitters this summer. Claire started sleeping through the night at 6 weeks old and lasted until she was 5 months old. Now she wakes up 1 to 2 times a night. She has a hard time taking naps sometimes and fights sleep until she can't keep her eyes open. And days that I do have off I need to often run arrands and she naps while I drive but wakes up when I take her out of the car. I feel like I am really failing her in the schedule dept. I don't really know how to fix the schedule problem but I'm going to have to try to do something.

6 month update

At 6 months Claire is a happy baby. She has 2 teeth, can sit up on her own, and is in 9 month tops and 6 month bottoms. weighing in at 15lb 8oz and in size 3 diapers! She is in the 50 percentile for head circumfrance, weight, and height. I love her 6 month photos, they turn out so cute. She gave us some big smiles!
